Do I need to apply to a part-time program?

With the exception of graduate certificates and Early Childhood Education, there is no formal application process for part-time studies. Unlike full-time students, once a student's application has been approved, they will still have to register for the courses they want in a semester. Students may register for part-time courses at any time up until the start date of the course. If time allows, we encourage students to register at least one week before the course begins to give yourself time to order your textbooks and prepare for the start of the term.

There is a three course maximum per semester for part-time students.

Our course offerings can be accessed through the course list or any part-time program page. Click on the course name to view additional info such as dates, price, and to register online. Please be prepared with your credit card to make your payment online or by phone at the time of registration.

What are the admissions requirements for part-time studies?

Part-time students can register online course-by-course, there is no application process and therefore no entry level testing required for general interest, certificate and diploma level courses.  In order to achieve the highest levels of success in a program, it is recommended that part-time students meet the admission requirements listed for the program.

Do I have to take prerequisite and corequisite courses?

In order to receive a credential, students are required to complete all courses within a program of study. Part-time students should complete their courses in the order indicated on the program page, paying particular attention to the identified prerequisite and corequisite courses.

Any identified prerequisite courses must be successfully completed prior to registration in a course(s) which names it as a prerequisite. The knowledge and skills gained from the prerequisite courses are required for success, registering for a course without the prerequisite knowledge may result in poorer performance or even failure.

In most cases, corequisite courses should be taken in the same semester. True corequisites, for example a placement and corresponding seminar course, must be taken together.

How long do I have to complete my program?

Each program has a different time limit for completion. Check the program page or contact us to find out how long you have to complete your program of study. It is your responsibility as a student to ensure you complete all requirements within the allotted timeframe.
