What is the Ontario Student Assistance Program?
The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is a financial aid program that can help Ontario residents pay for college or university.
OSAP offers funding through:
- grants: money you don’t have to pay back
- a student loan: money you need to repay once you’re done school
When you apply for OSAP, you are automatically considered for both grants and loans. If you don’t want to take a loan, you can decline it after your application is approved.
Are online programs eligible for OSAP funding?
Full-time Online
All full-time online programs offered at Algonquin College are eligible for OSAP funding.
Part-time Online
Please review the Part-time OSAP Approved Programs list to determine if the program you would like to study is eligible for funding through OSAP.
Are there other scholarships or bursaries available to online students?
Students may be eligible for other scholarships, bursaries or out of province assistance. More information is available through the Financial Aid Office.
