While all courses include a final assessment (final paper, project, online test or exam, etc.) some courses may require an in-person paper or computer-based exam. Please refer to your course calendar, and/or course announcements to confirm if your course requires an in-person exam.
If you are enrolled in a course that requires an in-person exam, you will receive an email reminder to book your online exam approximately 30 days before the exam booking deadline.
How do I book a final exam?
All information regarding exam booking, including exams at the Ottawa campus, out of town exams, and exam accommodations can be found on the AC Online Exam Booking Webpage.
How do I book exams at the Algonquin College Ottawa campus?
Students within 100 km of the Ottawa area will complete their exams on campus. There is no charge to write exams in the on-campus sessions booked through the MyAC Exam Booking system.
How do I book exams as an out of town student?
Students outside of the Ottawa area will need to schedule and complete their exams at a local postsecondary institution. If there are no colleges in your area, any kind of educational institution is acceptable, such as libraries, high schools, tutoring centers, etc. Not all of these places proctor exams so it would be up to you to research locations.
It is the student’s responsibility to confirm an exam proctor and pay any associated fees. Please note that for computer-based exams, it is also the student’s responsibility to make sure that the proctor has the appropriate software required to complete the exam. Students are not permitted to write final exams on their personal devices.
What if I require exam accommodations?
If you are registered through the Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) and wish to receive accommodations, please contact CAL Test Services at either 613-727-4723 ext. 6092 or at caltestservices@algonquincollege.com. Once you have booked with CAL, you will need to confirm your exam date and time through the AC Online Exam Booking System.
